The NetballSmart programme is guided by the NetballSmart Consultant, Sharon Kearney. Sharon is a physiotherapist with extensive involvement in sport and Netball and was the Silver Fern physiotherapist for over 15 years. Jenny Storey, as the NetballSmart Programme manager (NSPM), will lead the operation of the extensive NetballSmart Programme. Jenny is a physiotherapist, has a wealth of knowledge having been involved with injury prevention programmes in a variety of sports and has a background in high performance sport as an athlete. There are six NetballSmart Development Officers (NSDO) distributed around New Zealand and are a qualified group of physiotherapists and sports science graduates who love netball. The NSDO’s are there to work with coaches, players, schools, centres and clubs to assist in developing smart netball strategies to improve performance and decrease injury risk. They will run workshops, visit schools, clubs and centres and engage in a way that meets the varied needs of Netball.
